Short peptide bioregulators
Short peptide bioregulators are two to four amino acid chains that were developed in Russia and are claimed to adjust gene activity in specific tissues, such as the pineal gland or the brain. None is approved in the United States, and they are sold for longevity, sleep, and cognition claims. Reported side effects in the small published studies are few, which reflects how little systematic safety data exist. The key safety point is that evidence comes mostly from animal work and small uncontrolled human reports from the groups that developed them.
